|Let the memory of Jim be with us forever|
"I will always continue to miss my dear, dear friend.
Love & Peace,
"Thinking about you, Jim on the 3rd anniversary of your death."
"I was saddened to hear about my dear friend, Jim. We go back to 1985 when he entertained in Indianapolis. I met him one evening and from that day forward, we had an incredible friendship beyond words. I loved his smile, his eyes, his wit and his charm. The stage is exactly where he belonged. His voice and love for entertaining will be missed. I love and miss you my dear friend. IBJR"
"44 years ago today Woodstock opened with Richie Havens performing
Minstrel with Gault.
I remember vividly as Jim and I watched it on the news from Colorado
I miss my dear friend."
"I'm so sorry to hear about Jim. He and I roomed together on the road quite a bit, and I considered him a good friend. He was an awesome singer and a terrific entertainer. He always put 110% into every song he sang, and he truly loved fronting Quantrell. Even though I hadn't seen him in many, many years, I'll think of him fondly, and remember his passion for singing. Rest in Peace Jim!"
"From Paul- First time I heard Jim sing, he blew me away! He had such charisma on stage. He sang with great emotion. I have many fond memories of him on the road. I still laugh at some of his wit. I regret that I did not keep better contact with him. To this day, he is still the best entertainer I ever had the privilege to work with."
"I've known many musicians and singers but I can't think of any single performer that enjoyed being on the stage more than Jim. He had a real passion for entertaining and in his "true heart" always wanted to know what he needed to do to improve. Jim's sense of humor was as unique as any I've ever known. Funny, wacky, oblique, heartfelt. RIP Jim."
"I really miss talking with Jim. I can't listen to "Saturday in the Park" and many other songs, without getting sad. Jim had a clever, twisted humor that was so unique to him. He laughed so much. How odd that it would appear he was unhappy behind that. Or was this some horrible mistake that wasn't meant to happen? We'll never know."
"Jim was a very special man to me. We go back literally 40 years ago. We had again started speaking in the end of 2009. I am stunned and devastated that he is gone again. I have lost a very, very special friend. He was one of a kind. I want to thank Carolyn for administrating this memorial. I always thought he would make the big time, never a better voice. Love you Jim-RIP"
"I am in total shock.I saw the youtube tribute and it broke my heart. I played with Jim right after he left Quantrell. He took the band I was with to a whole new level.I would have never played the gigs we had if it wasn't for Jim. Jim brought energy and excitement to each performance and he inspired me to play my best. Thank you Jim for all of the good memories. You left way too soon. RIP"
"Am I, a stranger to be the first to leave a memorial to this man.....R.I.P. Jim."
