James E. Laney, 52, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, February 18, 2016 at his home after an extended illness. He was born October 5, 1963 in Paintsville, Kentucky, and had lived in this area most of his life.
James graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree, from Fortis College of Nursing. He loved helping people.
Jim is survived by his children, Shane Laney, of Alabama, Bryan Laney, of Norwalk, Ohio, and Marcia Laney, of Norwalk, Ohio, by 8 grandchildren, and by his mother and step father, Irene and Eddie Cook, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his father, James Laney, of Marion, Ohio. He is also survived by his siblings, Rob Laney, of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael Laney, of New London, Ohio, and Michelle Harter, of Norfolk, Virginia.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Monday February 22, 2016 in the Preston Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit the Preston Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday.
Burial will be in Butcher Cemetery, Boons Camp, Kentucky.
