He was born on August 20, 1936 to the late Robert and Bessie K. in Meriwether County.   Joe was a lifetime member at Branch Hebron Baptist Church where he accepted Jesus Christ at an early age.  After retiring from Jones Brothers Inc., he continued to work self-employed as a logger for many years.  

He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Mae Tinsley.   He leaves to cherish his memories two daughter and five sons, Teresa Copeland (James) of Dalton, GA; Darlene Towns of Boston, MA; Willie George Tinsley of LaGrange, GA; Larry Tinsley (Trina) of LaGrange, GA; Robert Louis Tinsley (Melissa) of Manchester, GA; Michael K. Tinsley (Stephanie) of LaGrange, GA and Anthony Tinsley (Rikki) of Jonesboro, GA; Joe has four siblings, George Tinsley (Reba) of Detroit, MI; Water Harris (Gloria) of Hogansville, GA; Ola Mae Thrash of Atlanta, GA and Mollie McCall (Lorenzo) of Lone Oak, GA;  Also leaving thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
