Obituary for John David Bush

John “Redneck” Bush, 48 of Bethany passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. He left this world after an 8 year illness with his family surrounding him.
John was born May 29, 1964, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Curtis and Evelyn (Peters) Bush. He attended Cerro Gordo High School. His career was spent as a heavy equipment operator having worked for R&R and Kelly Construction.
He was proud to have been a member of the Cerro Gordo Fire Dept. It was his great honor to a charter member of the Okaw Honor Guard.
The love and pride he had for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds. His eyes would light up and he smiled so big they could burst as he watched the antics of his family.
John never let there be a dull moment around him. He woke everyday singing, hooting and hollering (no matter how often his family groaned). He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, sons: John (Valerie) Bush of Bethany, Benjamin (Joyce) Bush of Moweaqua, Donald (Danielle) Bush, and Colton Bush of Bethany. Brother; James (Arlene) Bush of Oakley. Six grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, sister, uncle, and niece.
A special thanks to the staff of DMH ICU and the nurses of 3500 who took such great care of John.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 5 – 7 pm with a service at 7 pm at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Casual attire is requested.   Private family burial will be at a later date.
Until we meet again.
