Hey Dad. It's been quite a year. I wrote a book, started a website, and lost my eyesight. All in one year. Life is pretty fragmented right now. I feel very alone, but I know God is still in charge. I wish things were better. I'll be seeing you soon. Hey, check out the blog I wrote about a memory about you. Hope you like it. https://mirandajchivers.com/remembrance-day-poppies-eagles-and-dad/

November 11, 2017. Today I carried you in my heart as we attended the Remembrance Day Services. I chuckled as I realized that your passing on such an important day encourages us to attend an auspicious memorial service every year. How could we possibly forget you when we have these annual reminders? It's hard to believe that it's been six years already. Still feels like yesterday.

Hey daddy. I know I'm writing this a day late because your birthday was yesterday. But I thought about you all day yesterday. I've been wondering what your job is up there in heaven? I can see you in the big cloud of witnesses up there - looking down, cheering on and praying for us down here. I'm sure you have some kind of a job where you're keeping records and reporting back to the Almighty Chief, I can see you sitting down and writing, reviewing the records, making summaries. I wonder what you're writing about me. What's in the scrolls that are written about us? Are we doing what we're supposed to be doing, are we achieving everything that was written about us, or have we been taken off course? For the Almighty judge is the author and finisher of my faith. I hope they gave you a big birthday party. Sure miss you. Looking forward to seeing you again. Your loving daughter.

I called , John, grandpa, even though, he was quite a bit younger than my Dad!
He loved that!!  I am the secretary at Portage Evangelical Church.
This is where John and Margaret attended church.
John used to stop in at church almost every day, when he missed a day, I was wondering where he was, if all was alright.
I always enjoyed our time together, laughing,, talking about God, and His word, visiting, encouraging each other, praying together.
Sometimes, he would come in and say to me, cheer me up.  This brought out the crazy side of me, and a joke needed to be told, a hug was given and a prayer was said. Love you "Grandpa".
Will see you in Heaven! How glorious that will be.  I know you are enjoying the presence of God, sitting at His feet worshiping Him!

Happy birthday Daddy. You would be 85 tomorrow. Wow. You've been away for four years now. I really miss you. I can imagine how much you must be enjoying heaven now. Life here is just crazy and is getting crazier every day. I often wonder how long it will be until I see you again. I'm thinking it won't be long. Hug Jesus for me.
