Eulogy Written By Nina Cecily James Los Angeles

JOSHAWA AVERET CURLEE,

Our Son, our Nephew, our Cousin, our Friend, Our Love...

A Beautiful child was born February 27, 1977 and that child grew to be a

Beautiful Man...

Josh sought to live life to the fullest of his sweet ability...He looked at

life through a prism of love, light, music and had a heart so large - it

encompassed all, and shone it's light brightly upon the world...

There are those that enter our lives for a brief moment and move us as if they

were moving mountains...Josh was one of these Angels who came and left

swiftly on the wings of a gentle butterfly..

He found so much of his joy in making music, music that touched

all those that were blessed to hear him perform - Whether it was on the lovely

Beaches of Venice in California or the stages of his homeland, Sweet Texas...

Josh was made of pure sweet God's love - and he gave of his heart to all

through song..

Josh loved his dear family, friends, his Angel Vicki, and strangers from a

bottomless pit...It was an easy task for Josh to love all whom he

encountered whether home or abroad...

For those of us in California and across his life’s travels, we were Blessed

to be touched by this truly joyful spirit, and we will remember his inner joy,

inner beauty and that smile that drew us into his Love...

We will not mourn his passing this day, but we shall celebrate ALL that

he was and why he was sent here - his ultimate purpose to share the love

that we all need in our lives - in Joshawa this Love was Abundant and

Purposeful...

He lived, yesterday, today and in the here and now, and in each of our

futures not only in our hearts, but every time the wind blows, he touches our

hand, and everytime a rainbow crosses the sky - that is Josh smiling at us,

and each time a special STAR shines in our path and lights the way, that is

Josh guiding from above...

A Loving Man left this earthly presence on December 22, 2012 and with

him he takes our undying Love, our Eternal Blessings, and the Promise that

he shall live FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS...AND MAY PEACE BE WITH HIM

THIS DAY FORWARD....

Nina Cecily James...

Gone Too Soon

January 9, 2013

Joshawa Averet Curlee, 35 years old, was born February 27, 1977 in Burnet, Texas. He received his calling on December 22, 2012 to soar with the Angels in Heaven. Josh spent his last days at the University Medical Center El Paso & the Lighthouse Hospice in Round Rock, Texas, where he was surrounded by his loving family members, many dedicated doctors, nurses, and pastors, a host of loyal friends, and his Aunt Darlene and Vicki who stayed at his bedside. The care, compassion, and love he received was a comfort and true blessing for him, and he spoke of his appreciation many times.

Josh was a professional drummer by craft, and he played the drums for various regional bands, cover bands and international recording artists for many years. He was stricken with severe medical conditions at an early age that over the years deemed him disabled, but his faith and love for Jesus was ever steady. Josh had a deep sense of compassion and concern for his fellow man, and he embraced humanity with open arms. He would often give when he had little for himself, and even through the pain and tears, Josh always counted his blessings. Josh loved deeply, and he prayed with conviction. There were many spiritual loved ones and advocates in Josh’s life, and each one held a special place in his heart. He often found himself in the arms and comfort of those who truly understood his plight, and who actually fought for his protection and happiness.

Josh loved to fish, and he had fond memories with his father who taught him about the outdoors. He would spend countless hours on the dock fishing, and would usually let the fish go after catching them. Cats, traveling, family gatherings, Christmas, being on movie sets with Vicki, concerts, playing dominos or shooting pool, and driving were a few of Josh’s pleasures in life. He also lived for his music, and was often seen with either a headset on, listening to the stereo, watching music videos, or playing his drums. He wrote lyrics and poetry, and would sing to those he loved. His Grandmother Nana was a special person in his life, and he also cherished the family members and friends that never forgot about him. Josh was truly loved, and he found   happiness in the arms of his angel.
