Julia Hill Elliott, 86, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Granville Medical Center.
A native of Durham County, she was the daughter of the late David Deloney and Hattie Gray Hill. Julia was a member of Oxford Baptist Church. She worked for Granville County Schools for many years and was a district manager of Avon. She also was past president of Oxford Women’s Club.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford by Rev. Pat Cox. Visitation will follow the Graveside Service at the cemetery.
Surviving are her daughter, Valinda Elliott Jackson and son-in-law, Irby Bruce Jackson, Jr. of Wilson, a sister, Doris Hill Woodlief of Oxford, a granddaughter, Jill Jackson Wheeler, a grandson, Joseph Bruce Jackson, both of Wilson, four great-grandchildren, Jackson Wheeler, Elliott Wheeler, Lee Jackson and Walker Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Josiah “Joe” Elliott and three brothers, Victor, Everette and Weldon Hill.
