Karen wanted to do a portrait of herself to give to Frank, I believe for their anniversary. Georgia and I came down to the house on College Street and did a number of poses most of them window lit like this one. This was the standout pose of the sitting and Karen ordered a large wall print to give to Frank. When we went to Atlanta to the lab to pick it up the print it drew a lot of interest, I think more for how good Karen looked than my photographic expertise. If memory serves me right Karen is not smiling as she had braces at the time.
We loved having the McClungs as our friends and neighbors and have many good memories of some of our adventures. The four of us once made a trip to NYC to attend Lee Harless' wedding. It was the week before Christmas and it was sooo cold but we had so much fun. So many more memories have come rushing back...trips to California to photograph weddings and finally Karen's last trip to Newnan. We will miss her smiling happy personality and her ability to cook a gourmet dinner while in the midst of entertaining a happy crowd in her kitchen.
