Lola Heaton passed away peacefully at age 94 in Woodland, the community in which she lived for over 50 years.   She was born in Idaho in 1919 on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation where her father was a U.S. Forest Service ranger.   Lola was a remarkable woman, surviving and thriving after a cerebral hemorrhage in her early twenties. She met her loving husband, Howard Heaton, in Willows, California, and after WWII, they had two children, Corinne and Sam. In 1960 Lola and Howard moved to Woodland where they enjoyed a wonderful life.  Nature was their greatest love, birdwatching and boating being among their favorite outdoor activities.  Before Howard died in 2004, they traveled extensively, including visiting all 50 U.S. states, 48 in their motorhome.  Lola and Howard were happily together for 66 years, and now they are together again.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Alderson Convalescent for the loving care she received there.  Please send any remembrance to Aldersons, where she lived her last years in peace.
