I am deeply sadden about the passing of Mrs. Davis. I kept telling myself that I need to call her; and never got around to it; guess it was her way of saying goodbye by staying on my mind. I will truly miss her and cherish our conversations. R.I.P. You will never be forgotten!

My heart cries out after hearing that 'Mama Lou' has left this side, but it rejoices in knowing that she's in our Lord's presence. She was one of my mother's best friends and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I know your pain too well, but I also know that "God will turn your mourning into dancing and your sorrow into joy." It may take a while and you may not believe that the pain will ever end, but He has already blessed you with the strength that you'll need to get through this. I love you all and will continue to pray for you.

Mama Lou

August 21, 2015

I can't remember the exact day or year that I met Mrs. Louise Davis. I do know that I was a young girl and she was a friend and fellow church member to my mother, Helen Ingersoll. They were not the type of girl friends that were in and out of each others homes, but they were the best of friends. I watched them interact with one another at church and singing in the choir together. When they talked on the phone, it could last for hours!

I soon began to refer to Mrs. Lou as Mama Lou because I knew that I could count on her as a mama. She was an awesome seamstress, having sewn my senior prom gown and a whole lot for everyone else. She kept me laughing everytime I encountered her whether in person or by phone.

I remember when she was in a bad car accident and  Mama was called. It scared  Mama, but she was right there with Mama Lou and family. When Mama had surgery, Mama Lou was there with us. When either our family or her family experienced a death, they were always there t support one another.

In February 2014, Mama died and Mama Lou was right there with us. I know that it broke her heart, losing a close friend, but she encouraged us and acted just as a mother would.
I'm going to miss her, but rejoice knowing that her and Ms. Helen are back together.

I love you all and pray continued peace and strength over your lives,

Tonya "Cookie" Ingersoll Hodrick
