Her Life

She Will Be Missed

July 27, 2014

Louise Kennemer, 92, died at home in Proctor Place on July 24. She was born in 1921 to Louis and Alice Page in Dawson, Il.
If you asked someone about Louise, they would remember her sparkling blue eyes, the sweetness of her smile and her never ending love of playing games.
She married 3 times. Once to Jim Barnabee for true love, once to Mac McAleer for the promise of love, and last to Bob Kennemer for companionship which developed into a special love story.
When asked by her daughter what she wanted to be, she answered "a mother." Louise was a child during the depression.  Her mother had to work.  Her parents left her and her sister Mary behind to search for a better life for all in California. Louise wanted to be a mother, and she was a wonderful mother to her daughters Kitty McKelvey, Barb Keene and Debra Barnabee and sons Jerry and Michael Barnabee.  A good mother, a loving mother, who was always there for them.  A wonderful grandmother to her 9 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren.  We will miss her dearly.
A private internment will held at American Mausoleum.  A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 3 pm at Proctor Place in Peoria. Memorial donations can be made to Illinois Cancer Care Foundation.
