Mrs. Lula Voncille Mason, 89 year old resident of West Point, Georgia, died Monday, November 5, 2012, at George H. Lanier memorial Hospital in Valley, Alabama.

Mrs. Mason was born Thursday, August 16, 1923, in Montgomery, Alabama, the daughter of the late Dennis and Lula Trammell Golden.  Mrs. Mason grew up in Montgomery and moved to Texas, Massachusetts and Opelika, Alabama before coming to West Point in 1987.  She attended Auburn University and was an office manager at Hood’s Dairy while she lived in Massachusetts.  She loved singing the music played by her husband and his band.  Mrs. Mason was also a private pilot and avid bridge player.

Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her husband William Joseph Mason and her brother William P. Golden.  She is survived by her nephew, Gardner Lee Mason of Brandanton, Florida, her niece Idris Mae Mason of Palmer, Alaska and her first cousin Frances Collins of Opelika, Alabama.
