Mark and  I were living together at the Tamarack Apt.s.  After we married we moved from a one bedroom to a 2 bedroom.  I was not able to get pregnant and we really wanted to be parents.  I knew someone who had adopted a baby, so we looked into that.  It was just so expensive.  So we decided to do fost-adopt.  We became licensed foster parents in 2005.  They were making all kinds of changes in the foster care system in San Jose area.  We got our first two children in 2006.  The kids were so adorable.  But the experience we had almost made us give up.  The foster care system is broken.  But if we gave up, I would never be a mom.  More to come.......

I met Mark when we were both attending 12 step meetings.  I was telling my story at one of the many meetings at the Mid Penninsula Alano Club.  Mark was listening in the audience.  He later told me,  "That's the girl I'm going to Marry"    We started dating.   I was living with my best friend Tracy, at the time.   She has since passed away.  We dated for about 1 1/2 years.  Though he proposed to me after maybe a month.  Sept. 6th, 1998 we went to Reno with our good friends, Betty & Lou.  They were our wittnesses.
