Mary Evelyn “Annise" Hall Brown was born in Coosa County, Alabama on August 9, 1932 to the late John Wesley and Annie Mae Walker Hall. At an early age, she became a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Alexander City, Alabama.

Annise Brown was joined in Holy Matrimony to Julius Brown on March 17,1956. Into this union, two children were born.

She later joined the New Home Missionary Baptist Church.

She loved her family and friends; also, she loved selling Avon. Annise sold Avon for over 40 years during that time she was awarded the Avon's Presidential Miss Albee's Award 23 times.
She was preceded in death by her husband Julius Author Brown, her daughter Veronica Renae Brown, and six sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Brown leaves to cherish her life, one daughter, Hilda Tuck (David) of Rockford, Alabama, two grandchildren: Je'an-Chauncey Julius Tuck of Birmingham, Alabama, and Kioka Chalece Tuck of Rockford, Alabama, one sister Annie Ruth Harris of Alexander City, Alabama;, two sister-in-laws: Cora Mae Jones and Ellen Bea Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
