Her Life
April 6, 2016

Mary, a California native, grew up in Buena Park, California and attended St. Pius V School through the 8th grade.  A graduate of Mater Dei High School in 1969, Mary went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from CSUF and her Master’s in Social Work at USC.  She ran her own practice as a  marriage and family counselor until retiring in 2013.

Mary will forever be remembered for the way in which she lived her life and cared for others.  She loved to laugh and her family and friends shared many fun and memorable times with this wonderful woman.  She enjoyed planting her flowers, reading, and making quilts in her free time.  Most of all, she loved being around people, especially her husband and boys, siblings, and her many close friends.  She will be forever missed.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, two sons, Patrick and Michael, siblings Erin Hastick, Katy Wakeham, Patrick Magner, and John Magner.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha, and her Mom, Peggy, and Dad, Jack.  Mary was the second child born to Jack and Peggy, and became the compass of the family.  Mary cared deeply about her family and friends, felt their pain, and relished in their joys.  She will be truly missed as there was none other like Mary.
