Matthew Salazar LUBBOCK-Services for Matthew Salazar, 32, of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Gerald Leatham officiating. A Rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brownfield Funeral Home. Matthew was born on Sept. 11, 1982, to Fedencio Salazar, Jr. and Linda Galvan Salazar in Lubbock. He graduated from Brownfield High School and attended South Plains College. Matthew married Daynelle Sandoval on June 3, 2005, in Lubbock. He was a Texas Tech fan. He loved attending games and was an avid sports fan. He was a very lovable person, a great husband, father, and wonderful brother. Matthew was one of the best friends a person could have. He enjoyed playing sports with his daughters and loved to BBQ for his family. Matthew is preceded in death by a brother, Paul Andrew Salazar; maternal grandparents, Antonia and Santos Galvan; and paternal grandparents, Fidencio, Jr. and Cleatide Salazar. Matthew is survived by his wife, Daynelle Salazar of Lubbock; two loving daughters; parents, Fidencio, Jr. and Linda G. Salazar of Brownfield; two brothers, Fidencio Salazar, III and wife, Ofelia of Edinburg, and Robert Salazar of Brownfield; a sister, Helen Muniz and husband, David of Brownfield; and a niece, Victoria Muniz of Brownfield.

To the mother of Matthew,

It is not natural to lose a child in death. I'm sure you must be experiencing great emotional pain. I have found much comfort in God's promise at John 5:28, 29 that those now in the grave are remembered by God and he will call them out of the grave during the resurrection.
