Mike's brother, Steve (married to Nancy) still lives in their hometown of Sheboygan, WI.  Steve and Nancy have two children, Joseph and Julie.  Julie (married to Scott) has two children - Alex and Sarah.  Mike has three children - Scott (married to Stacey), Lindsay (married to Patrick) and Garrett.  He has been blessed with three beautiful grandchildren: Scott's children - Amber and Austin; and Lindsay's daughter, Abigail.  Scott and Stacey are also expecting their second daughter in September.      

Mike met Holly while they were both in the Air Force.  Both were stationed at a base in Germany, but both were tied to other significant others at the time.  During that time, their friendship grew, and when they found that they were both single again, they decided to begin dating.  Shortly thereafter, they were married at a small ceremony in Denmark.  They continually joked that they weren't sure if they were really married because the marriage certificate was in another language.  They enjoyed a wonderful 31 years of marriage together.

Mike didn't stop after retiring from the military.  He went on to manage a funeral home before earning a Bachelors of Science in Information Systems.  From there, he worked in the IT department at Civista Medical Center and then as the only Senior Systems Engineer at Facchina Consulting Company where he developed programs for various governement agencies.  

Mike served for 27 years in the U.S. Air Force.  He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank possible.  He served as the Medical Director at the Andrews AFB medical hospital.  During his military career, he received many awards and commodations.  An award was created in his honor, the "Eagle Excellence", and is awarded to staff in his department that display excellent customer service.  

Mike graduated from North High School in Sheboygan in 1969, where he played the flute in the band and orchestra.

Mike was born on July 1st, 1951 in Sheboygan, WI.  He was the third child of Edgar and Marianne.  Having no car, his mother and father had to walk to the hospital to deliver him.
