Her Life

Mrs. Bartlett was born on Friday, July 7, 1917, in West Point, Georgia the daughter of the late Florrie Dudley Smith and Robert E. Smith Sr. After birth, she lived in West Point for six weeks before her lifetime move to Fairfax for the rest of her life. Mrs. Bartlett and her loving husband owned and ran Bartlett’s Curb Market for over 30 years prior to their retirement. She was active in her church, First Christian Church in Valley, where she was prior board member, Sunday School Teacher, and sang in the choir. She loved to fish on Lake Martin, garden, cook, and spend time with her great grandson’s who were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Bartlett Wright of LaGrange, GA; Grandson Maury Wright (Andrea) of San Diego, CA; Granddaughter Laura Wright Thompson of Huntsville AL; Grandsons Nicholas Wright, Bartlett Thompson, Dexter Thompson all of Auburn AL; Special nieces Linda Smith Dollar and Julianelle Smith Alexander; Special neighbors and friends. Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bartlett; brothers Robert E. Smith, Jr (Paula), Dudley Smith (Sarah Frances), Hunter Smith (Marinelle), and Clifford Smith (Helen); Son in law Nick Wright.
