Mr. Melvin Johnson, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Andrew and Elizabeth Johnson Ingram was born January 17, 1955 in Lee County, Alabama.

Melvin was a dedicated employee of West Fraser Lumber Corporation for more than 25 years. He worked as a Lumber Grader until his untimely demise. On Tuesday, December 10, 2013 Melvin entered eternal rest at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

His survivors include: his devoted wife, Annie Ruth Harper Johnson, Cusseta, AL; two loving children, Telly Calloway (Demeetra) Auburn, AL and Lacopbra (Michael) Holloway, Piedmont, AL; four grandchildren; two god-children whom he raised, Jamario McCants and Arlicia Askew both of Cusseta, AL; six brothers, Bishop Larry (Lillie) Johnson, Camphill, AL, David Lee (Carrie) Johnson, Dennis (Regina) Johnson, Jerry (Alice) Johnson, Gregory Johnson and Michael (Beverly) Johnson all of Opelika, AL; six sisters, Mae Sue (John) Hollis, Atlanta, GA, Judy Thomas, Sharon Dowdell, Shirley Dowdell, Angela Brooks and Betty Nunn all of Opelika, AL; mother-in-law, Annie Harper Pollard, Cusseta, AL; father-in-law, John (Betty) Pollard, Cusseta, AL; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy (KC) Avery, Valley, AL, Pamela (Warren) McCants, Teresa Pollard and Sharon Pitts all of Cusseta, AL; brother-in-law, Tommy (Connie) Harper, Opelika, AL; two aunts, Dorothy Jean Johnson and Willie Ruth Johnson both of Opelika, AL; a special friend, Johnny "Neal" Hollis; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
