Sharon Janise Ramsey James was born on May 27, 1962 to Jesse L. Ramsey and Jerelene Johnson Ramsey in Chambers County, Alabama. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and united with the Rehoboth Baptist Church of Valley, AL and remained a faithful member throughout her life.

Her education was received in the Chambers County School System, graduating in 1980 from Valley High School. From 1980 to 1984 she served her country in the U. S. Army National Guard, receiving an Honorable discharge. Sharon was united in holy matrimony to Rodney L. James on January 13, 1996. She was employed with Martex, later West Point Homes, for 13 years – until its closing in 2008. Mrs. Sharon J. James departed this life on Saturday, May 9, 2015.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband, Rodney L. James, Lanett, AL; two children, Shamiya Todd and Brandon James both of Lanett, AL; her beloved granddaughter, Shakayla Thomas, Lanett, AL; her mother, Jerelene J. Ramsey, Lanett, AL; her father, Jesse Ramsey, Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Kenneth Ramsey and Kelby (Eurika) Ramsey both of Lanett, AL; father-in-law, Marvin (Sylvia) James, Sr., West Point, GA; four brothers-in-law, Rev. Marvin C. (Melissa) James, Anniston, AL, Marvin (Vanessa) James, Jr., Columbus, GA, Douglas (Lisa) James, Lanett, AL and Curtis (Audrey) James, Valley, AL; four sisters-in-law, Loretta (Hugh) Truitt and Nekia (DeMarcus) Booker both of Lanett, AL, Sharon (John) Dunn and Angie (Willie) Flournoy both of Valley, AL; and, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
