Crawley, Ms. Carey Joyce, 80, a resident of Lanett, AL, transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, May 2, 2014 at EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home of Lanett, AL.

She was born March 2, 1934 to the late Richard and Minnie Finley Crawley, Sr. in LaFayette, Alabama. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Crawley, Jr. and Frank Crawley, Sr. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of LaFayette, Alabama, the Rev. Michael Stiggers, Pastor.

Ms. Crawley was a 1951 graduate of Lanier High School in Lanett, Alabama. She received the Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Alabama State University on Aug 10, 1956, Montgomery, Alabama. She was employed with the Chambers County School System as an elementary teacher at Eastside Elementary School in Lafayette.  

She leaves to cherish her memories: one sister-in-law, Avis Wilkins-Crawley of Bronx, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

A special thank-you goes out to Drs. Meka, Kuhn, Downs and Grossman, the EAMC-Lanier Hospital Staff, the EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home Staff, the Chattahoochee Hospice Staff and the Davis Memorial Mortuary Staff for the care that was given to Ms. Carey Joyce Crawley.
