I remember one time, when he lived on the hill in Thorofare, we were all sitting around his living room, chatting, having a good time. He was loading a muzzleloader, getting ready to show it off to someone (not sure who, can't remember). He loaded it with a little too much powder, and without thinking about it, put the overflow of powder in the ashtray. Having forgotten about it, he placed a lit cigarette on top of it. I've never heard a sound so loud or seen him move so fast. It was hilarious! We were all out of that house in 2 seconds flat.
