My Love, it is one year since you left me alone, no words can explain how much I miss you, you will stay in my heart for as long as I live. Your wife, HELGA
Phil was the greatest needle artist in the world. One of the ones I recall, was when in a game of Gin of 150 points. He beat me 150 to 15. After the game and after my paying him whatever the amount was, he said to me, " YOU DID PRETTY GOOD, YOU GOT 15 POINTS." One of my favorite memories " I miss you Phil.
Hi Phil, Can't believe it has been almost a year since you left us for the most "special place". Rest well, dear friend. We love you and miss you. Dooms & Shirl
We want to thank everyone who was able to come to our father's memorial yesterday, and everyone who shared memories of our Dad even though they couldn't be there. All of you were an important part of our dad's life, and we know he would have loved being there to not only hear the stories, but add his own, and enjoy everyone's company. We will miss him, but will hold our memories dear.
Phil, or Mr. Hill as I remember you, you were always smiling. A great and welcoming quality. You also, by sharing your Raiders tickets, inspired my love of football. Thanks for your wonderful smile and your generous nature. Peace and go Raiders!
We shared many experiences over the decades: beginning as classmates in sunday school, Piedmont High and as fraternity brothers commuting daily for 4 years to UC Berkeley. At my wedding, Phil was a groomsman. Later, there were countless games of chance and rounds of golf laced with his characteristic needles.I was enriched to be Phil's friend and will cherish those memories.
Phil, I admire you courage, and will miss your wonderful sense of humor. I have known you almost as long as Bob!! We will miss you very much. Rest peacefully!! With love, Shirl
Phil, we were friends for so many years, I miss the golf, shoe shows, gin, and your famous "needle". I once told you I had lost 20 lbs, and you said"an elephant can lose a ton and you can't tell the difference- Bob "Doomers+

"I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Privileged to have had Phil as family in law member. Remember his good looks and personality and warmth to all of us. Taught janel some great gin playing moves along with being a wonderful and loving dad.
The world just lost a great person, but heaven gained another angel. It was a pleasure taking care of you. Thank you for sharing all the sense of humor you had, with me and my sister. You will forever be remembered.

My biological father died in the war when I was too young to really experience the dad/son relationship. I'm very happy to have had that relationship with you. I treasure all the memories, from your paper route delivery with me when I was sick to our last conversation this year!
Phil: You were the love of my life. We shared many lovely moments and some angry moments but there was always love. What a beautiful family we have which does extend to include Helga - your lovely wife #2.Your family always came first and we did not want for anything - except for a bit more of your time. Lovingly,Mary- Ann
