Phyllis passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16th, 2015 after her 3rd fight with breast cancer in 29 years, and a final 1 1/2 year battle lost. She was a strong-willed, health oriented, Bible believer who sought to teach everyone she knew how to be healthy and heaven-bound.
Born in Chicopee, Massachucettes to Norma and Marcel Legare (a great navy engineer), she went to high school in Guantanimo Cuba, and later moved to Virginia Beach where she persued her career of Nursing and gave her life to Jesus Christ at Good News Baptist Church in 1980. Later moving to Bradenton, FL in 1990 with her daughter Shelby Hutchinson where she met the love of her life, Richard Garneau, she continued in Home Health Care and later decided to study herbs and supplements becoming a sales leader for healthy living products like NSA water filters, Shaklee, and Youngevity. They settled in Port Charlotte where she achieved her Daycare license, and Real Estate license, and owned her own Dance studio. She then became a Personal Fitness Trainer and volunteered at the Charlotte Cultural Center where she helped many people achieve their fitness goals and made many friends who loved her dearly.
She is survived by her loving father Marcel Legare, step-mom Kathleen Kirk, faithful husband Richard Garneau, thankful daughter Shelby Hutchinson, tenderhearted grandchildren Austin McDaniel, McKenzie Roe, Brenton Roe, only sister Karen Nuskiewicz, brother-in-law Ray Nuskiewicz, niece Kimberly, and nephews Aaron and Brian.
