I had the privilege of working with Preston for the past several years at PPG and prior to that with Ameron. Preston was known and respected by many people, not just at PPG, but within our industry. When word came that Preston had passed and we were passing the news on to everyone, the reaction was always the same…..nobody could believe he was gone….and we’ve lost a good one.
I am privileged to represent a lot of people in the company over many years and many of our customers across the country who thought so highly of Preston and always went out of their way to express their gratitude for his work.
Preston was regarded as the best of what he did. He was our senior field service representative and always drew the most important assignments and largest customers to work with. He took such pride in his work and was an example to all of us. He was always willing to go the extra mile and to help anyone he could.
My first memory of Preston was at a National Sales meeting where he was not in attendance, but the Group President had made note of the fact that Preston was on a plane to rescue the day at one of the accounts…it was clear then that he was special.
I can’t really give a proper tribute to Preston with anything I say today, but it’s the reaction of all of the people who are still in disbelief that he is gone that speaks for itself.
He loved Laura and I know they are together now in a place we all hope to go one day.
To Joy, Kenneth, and all of Preston’s family, on behalf of everyone from PPG, we extend our condolences and will keep your family in our prayers.
From Scripture:
The souls of the just are in the hand of God,
and no torment shall touch them.
They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead;
and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction.
But they are in peace.
For if before men, indeed, they be punished,
yet is their hope full of immortality;
chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed,
because God tried them
and found them worthy of himself.
As gold in the furnace, he proved them,
and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself.
In the time of their visitation they shall shine,
and shall dart about as sparks through stubble;
they shall judge nations and rule over peoples,
and the LORD shall be their King forever.
Rest in Peace Preston. We miss you.
