The Day He Slammed into My Life
It was a spring day, both of us anticipating just another day at work. Randy worked at a place then called Panama Reds [now known as Barleycorn's]. I was working for the WSU student newspaper, The Sunflower in ad sales.
I had an appointment set with the owner of the establishment. Randy was there doing morning cleanup. I had no idea that the small city park across the street was referred to as "bum park". I also had no knowledge of the fact that the folks from the park were a nuisance to him. My knock upon that red door changed those facts rather rapidly.
