Her Life

In Loving Memory of Rhea Ann Hogan

December 10, 2013

Rhea Ann Hogan, 61 years old, died unexpectedly on November 4, 2013 during a routine surgical procedure at De Paul hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on April 24, 1952.  Rhea Ann graduated from Hazlewood High School in St. Louis and began working as a waitress while pursuing her real passion for flying.  Not quite having the physical requirements to be the first female pilot, she decided to become a flight attendant.  Starting with Frontier, and a long stretch with Ozark, TWA and then American, she retired after thirty-five years of doing what she really loved.

In 1981 she met the one true love of her life, Dan; and they were married on August 28th, 1982.  Rhea Ann was the beloved daughter of the late Carl Leslie Spradling and the late Margaret Spradling, sister to Kathy (Willard) Adams and Tonie Sue (John) Steinbaker and the late Larry Greer.  Beloved partner, best friend, soul mate and wife to Dan for thirty-one years.  Dan and Rhea Ann shared an incredible life of fun, friends, happiness and fulfillment.  Her passing occurred suddenly and much too soon, and her laughing eyes and indomitable spirit will surely be missed by all who knew her.

Dan and family want to thank all of you who were fortunate enough to have had Rhea Ann touch your lives in some way.  In her final act of selflessness, she donated her organs for transplant to help others - not a surprise for those who knew her.  As we struggle through this difficult time, we ask that you share with us your love and respect for Rhea Ann.

Please keep Rhea Ann in your thoughts and prayers.
