What a loss was expierenced when Bob passed away. He was our daughter's father-in-law but became much more to us as we grew to know him. He and Sarah became family to us and also great friends. We were able to share so much with them. He was such a kind and considerate person and always had great stories to tell. We will miss him a lot but feel blessed to have had him in our lives.

to receiving them in the mail. Nothing beat a phone call with Grandpa, even if it was for 30 seconds I learned something new. The greatest advice I ever got was the "Be good to your parents" I heard it on a weekly basis, but I now live by it. Family is number 1 and grandpa brought that to my attention. You will be missed dearly Papa, look down on us and keep us all in line. I love you!

392 characters surely can't sum up how I feel about Papa Bob, and what he has meant to me. He taught me more life lessons then I even realize. Not a day goes by that something doesn't remind me of him. He was a great guy and what I loved most, was how much the little things meant to him. Even with the internet, and email he still mailed newspaper articles to me every week. I looked forward

Even though we were neighbors in Prescott Valley, AZ, we didn't get to know Bob until earlier this year. But whenever we got together, Bob always had a great story to share and it usually revolved around the Marines or sports and all conversations ended with laughter and that is what we will miss most. Bob was a good husband, dad, grandfather & friend/neighbor.

A Boss and a Friend

October 16, 2012

Bob,

I had the honor of not only working for you while you were in Bagdad, but also of becoming good friends with you and Sally.  I respected you and loved you as a boss because I knew you were hard working, kind, and a straight shooter!  Honesty was very important to you, as it was to me.

Our Children, Christy and Mike went to school together, and played tennis together, and we shared many fun times with my husband Jack and your Sally cheering our kids on, as well as the rest of the team.  We had dinner together at the out of town games, we sat in the heat in Phoenix and burned up watching our kids play, but it was important that we all be there.  That's the kind of parent you were.  You were there for your family, and that also was important to us.  You shared the same values we shared.

We will miss you Bob, you were a very special man, but you have left a wonderful legacy!  Rest in Peace my Irish friend!  We will meet again one day soon!

Love,

Barb

Remembered Joy (An Irish Prayer)

October 14, 2012

Remembered Joy (An Irish Prayer)

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me,
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief-
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

This Irish prayer reminded me of my Dad.  I miss him so much.  I think he would have loved this prayer!

My Memories of You

October 14, 2012
My Memories of You
Shared by  Sarah Cunningham on  10/13/2012
My Memory Library©            Sarah Blackstone          Imagine if I was given one moment, just a single  slice of my past. I could hold it close forever, and that moment would  always last. I'd put the moment in a safe, within my hearts  abode. I could open it when I wanted, and only I would know the  code. I could choose a time of laughing, a time of happiness and  fun. I could choose a time that tried me, through everything I've  done. I sat and thought about what moment, would always make me  smile. One that would always push me, to walk that extra mile. If  I'm feeling sad and low, if I'm struggling with what to do. I can go and  open my little safe, and watch my moment through. There are moments I  can think of, that would lift my spirits everytime. The moments when you  picked me up, when the road was hard to climb. For me to only pick one  moment, to cherish, save and keep, Is proving really difficult, as I've  gathered up a heap! I've dug deep inside my heart, found the safe and  looked inside, there was room for lots of moments, in fact hundreds if I  tried. I'm building my own little library, embedded in my  heart, for all the moments spent with you, before you had to  part. I can open it up whenever I like, pick a moment and watch it  through, My little library acts as a promise, I'll never ever forget  you
God blessed me with over fifty seven years of  loving memories in my memory library!
