Robert was born the six child in a family of eight. His father was archie, his mother isa and his family consisted of his only sister Cathy, older brothers Willie, Jimmy, Pat, Archie, then younger brothers Johnny and Gavin. He had a happy childhood and many family holidays at saltcoats. He worked as a glazier in Hurry Brothers where i met him at 15 years of age. We finally got around to dating and married when i was 17 and he was 20. Our first child Suzanne was born in 1974 and our son Grant was born in 1978.His young brother Johnny died through a childhood illness aged just 1 and half yrs. Isa died suddenly at just 49 yrs of age in 1974. His dad died in 1983,  his sister cathy died in 1981 aged 39 yrs. His brother in america Jimmy died and his ashes was brought back home to be scattered here. Robert was to died the year after Jimmy, so suddenly and without warning leaving us all shocked and unable to take it in. Today as i write this his brother Archie, who was our best man at our wedding has died, 13th January 2011. It has been hard for us all to bear these losses but they will be reunited again. God Bless.
