The son of the late Riddick and Cynthia Jackson Walters, Rodderick was a Columbus native and a 2004 graduate of Hardaway High School. He relocated to Columbus from Columbia, SC a few years ago, and was currently enrolled at Stat Certified Nursing School and attending Philippians Church of God In Christ. 

Survivors include: his sister, Laney Williams (Anthony); a brother, Troy Pettiway; four aunts, Linda Tarver (Gregory); Frances Varn (Garceil), Joan Pope (Melvin) and Fermell Walters; five uncles, James Jackson (Jocelyn), Rufus Bailey (Ernestine), Ronald Walters (Pamela), Roger Walters and Roy Walters; beloved cousins, Keewin Barnes (Kisha), Candace Jackson, Cherona Jackson Quick, Kornyan Bailey (Marilyn), Marquyse Jackson and Aryelle Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends.
