Her Life
July 10, 2015

Mrs. Allen was born in Heard County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Timpie Brown Williamson Allen and Willie Zach Allen. She was a member of the Ridgeway Baptist Church. In her younger years, while raising her children she was a machine operator in the textile industry. In later years she was employed by the A. G. Rhodes Health and Rehab Center where she was a nursing assistant. Her kind and cheerful dispositions brought great comfort to the patients she served. She loved having a good time and especially enjoyed dancing to country western music! This was an activity she taught her children, and enjoyed being with them while on the dance floor. Out of all the country stars she listened to, her favorites were Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. She had quite the green thumb, and grew beautiful flowers in her garden. She enjoyed going shopping, and going up and down the super market was very entertaining to her. “Mrs. Roxie” was a wonderful mother who was adored by all who knew her.

She is survived by three daughters, Louise Allen of Franklin, GA., Sarah Anthony of Woodland, AL., and Betty Thompson of Fayetteville, GA.; one brother, Hubert and Jessie May Williamson of LaGrange, Ga.; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Artis Allen; one infant son, Walter Artis Allen, Jr.; four sisters Irene Dean, Jewell Thompson, Ruth Kate Potts, and Christine Harris; and one brother, Millard Williamson.
