I can't remembe the exact date but the year was 1994. I was in the fourth grade. It was the day of my class filed trip. We were going to have a picnic at hellyer park and my dad "Roy Flores" was going to be one of the helping patents. Well i told my dad the wrong filed trip time. When i got to school that morning my teacher told us we were leaving in 15 minutes. I asked if i could use the phone to call him and tell him to hurry and come. My cousin Christina answered the phone and said he was asleep. I told her to wake him up and tell him. I asked my teacher if we could wait for him. He said yes but for 15 minutes only. My class and i walked to the outside gate which was on top of a hill and we waited. I was so worried that he wasn't going to make it and i was almost going to cry when my teacher said we had to go.. i got at the end of the line and kept looking back down the hill. As we begin to walk i took one last look and i saw my dad walking up the hill wearing shorts a white t-shirt a hat and an orange back pack. I was so happy. I yelled out to my teacher to wait. I said "there he is. My dad". So we waited for him. Everyone wanted to be in our group. My dad made all my classmates laugh. I was so proud to say thats my dad. We had so much fun. We took a picture before we left. It was me, my dad and my cousin Richie. I got to take the picture home a week later and i gave it to my dad as a gift. He keeped it for many years. Sadly the picture got burned in a fire. But the memory of that day will always be in my heart. I could still picture it like it was just yesterday...
