Roy Gordon Moss, age 82, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. He was born on September 28, 1935, in Granville County, NC to Carl Irwin Moss and Mary Lee Gordon Moss. He was a member of Tally Ho First Baptist Church in Stem, NC since 1979, where he has served as Deacon, Brotherhood Director, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School Secretary. He was a 40-year Mason and a current member and Past Master of Creedmoor Masonic Lodge #499, A.F. & A.M. He served in the US Army Reserve. Roy was a long-time member of the Stem Ruritan Club where he had served as President. He was a member of Lord Granville Agricultural Heritage Association. Roy also enjoyed participating in the GG Senior Group. He worked at the Coca-Cola Company in Durham, NC for 26 years. Roy also enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins with the Golden Zest of Tally Ho, gardening, fishing, and repairing machinery.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley Ann Gooch Moss; son, Brian Moss; daughter, Scharla Keeton; son-in law, Danny Keeton; granddaughter, Danielle Keeton; sisters, Patsy Sanders and Rebecca Bell (Charles); brother, Jimmy Moss (Marion); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, L. P. Moss and Ted Moss; and brother-in-law, Eddie Sanders.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor by Rev. Eddie Nutt.Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018 prior to the Memorial Service at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
