She is truly missed.

February 3, 2012

You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

I thought I would be OK with mom passing but it hurts so much cause I know it's final, I will never see her again. I also know the pain will ease in time.   I'M JUST SO HAPPY SHE WAS MY MOM. I do believe she is happy and at peace now, I also think she would want us to be happy too, so I'm gonna keep on smiling for her.

                            I LOVE YOU MOM

                              XOXOXO

"I love you" are the last words I heard you say...I love you, too and I miss you and I know that you are safely enveloped in God's loving arms.

My memories

January 18, 2012

After spending the weekend with Mom watching her take her final breaths, I’m filled with the mixed emotions of sadness, loss, relief and happiness. Mom suffered far too long with this disease which attempted to take her mind, identity and dignity. I’m so thankful that Mom died very peacefully and in the end, I couldn’t help but feel she died the way she lived, gracefully. Mom brought many things to the people around her, but for me it was always a hug, always a smile, always providing encouragement, always seeing the good in things and always loving.   This is what I’ll carry forward in her memory and hope my kids feel the same love I’ve had the good fortune to feel from both of my parents during my life.

God saw that she was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around her
and whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful eyes, we watched her suffer,
And saw her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly,
We could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Gentle hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes "the best".

My Aunt forever special

There are so many memories swarming my head; I used to refer to you as my "Happy Aunt" you always had a smile beaming from ear to ear. I have missed you and hope that you are in a good place.  Thanks for being my Aunt, my matante!  Your loving niece Terrie Delisle Jackowski

Mom's LOVE

January 17, 2012

If I had to describe my Dear Mom-in- Law with one word, that word would be LOVE. It sounds short and simple but Mom was a tiny lady who was bursting with it. Mom always greeted us with a big "I'm happy to see you" smile and her hugs were warm, long and sincere, you felt loved by a hug from Mom. That's what I'll miss the most. Thank you Mom, for all your love and I'll be forever grateful to you for raising such warm and caring son that I'm lucky to call my husband.Your love continues to shine in our children's smiles. Rest peacefully with God Mom.

Alzheimer's

January 17, 2012

You didn't die just recently,
You died some time ago.
Although your body stayed a while,
And didn't really know.

For you had got Alzheimer's,
You failed to comprehend.
Your body went on living.
But your mind had reached its end.

So we've already said, "Goodbye",
To the person that we knew.
The person that we truly loved,
The person that was, "You".

And so we’ll meet again one day,
To toast your bodies end.
For it was true and faithful,
Until right at the end.

And so, when we remember,
We'll think of all the rest.
We'll concentrate on earlier,
And remember all the best.

For in the real scheme of things,
Your illness wasn't long.
Compared to all the happiness,
You brought your whole life long.

We think of you as yesterday,
When you were fit and well.
And when we're asked about you,
It's those things that we'll tell.

And so we’ll meet in remembrance,
Of a mind so fit and true.
We'll be there to pay our last respects
To say that, "We love you"

MoM

January 17, 2012

Mom loved us from our first breath, held our hands through the years, guided us along the paths that our lives took, taught us that there is nothing we can't make it through to hold our faith and follow our hearts. She gave us her all and asked nothing in return.

She gave us all the stepping stones in life to become the people we are today, and through it all she stood proud of us all. Her family meant everything in the world to her.

It will be hard on us to let her go physically, but we carry her with us each and everyday in our hearts and our thoughts. The sun rising will remind us of the warmth of her love. Flowers blooming will remind us of her love for life. Our trials and tribulations will remind us of how strong willed she was. There's a part of her in each and every person that hears or reads this and we can all be so honored that she was a part of our lives.

We will always love you mom, wife, and grandmother. We will carry you with us each day in our hearts. We will mourn our loss but rejoice that you are in a better place sitting with loved ones, awaiting our arrival one day.

My Mother-in-law Ruth

January 16, 2012

"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens. Circumstances and situations do color life, but you have been given the mind to choose what the color shall be".

John Homer Miller This quote made me think of Ruth, as she always had a smile on her face and had such a beautiful nature. She seemed to me to be happy and content in her life. As part of her family she welcomed me and offered the same unconditional love she gave to all around her.  With her loss come many layers of heartache for everyone that knew her. In her memory we will hopefully walk through our lives with a bigger heart and just as big a smile. Her passing makes us think again about what life is all about…. loving, giving and sharing what one has.
