Pictured are Shelley Jones, Pam Hill-Byrne and Sharon. We had just completed a workshop on thread painting at Susan Levi-Goerlich's studio, back in July 2012. This was what became the first of many over the next 2 1/2 years. Our group of 4 became 6 with the addition of Eileen Martin and Meg Romero, all gathering at Sharon's fabulous studio! We named ourselves The Creative Playground. Our mission; to share ideas and inspirations, explore new techniques and materials and to have fun. And that we did! I will always be grateful for the chance to know and work with such a creative group of women. Sharon was the "glue" that held us together. She was generous, inspiring, fun and a good friend. I will certainly miss her.

The tree in the background was sheered off and split by a strong summer storm called a Derecho during the summer of 2011. Charity was conducting a workshop in Sharon's studio at the time. Charity grew up in Zambia, lived in The Netherlands, and came to Washington DC, the USA capital, to teach a workshop when the power went out, no water was available and it was scorching hot. She thought she was back in Zambia!

Sharon's New Years Wish for 2015
The following is an e-mail message Sharon sent on December 24, 2014 to the felting study group:
Happy holidays to all as well. My wishes for all of you:
never have to rely on notes,
never lose your keys, your wallet or your credit card,
always find your car in the parking lot eat all you want and never have to worry about weight gain, blood pressure or cholesterol
have perfect eyesight hear as clearly as you did when you were 19
all of your limbs work when you want them to work
be strong enough to carry a heavy purse and the groceries
always remember the names of people you should know
be forever youthful
Sharon
