Seven Years

April 7, 2016

Good morning babe,

I can't believe it's been 7 years. There's not a day that goes by where I don't think about you. My life is still guided by the values that you showed our family. Although I still wish you were here, I use your spirit to fill that void. Our children are doing very well. I am so glad that you were physically here long enough that I give most of the credit for their success to you. I think they got my smarts though. LOL! Anyway...continue to rest in peace and I will always love you.

Happy Anniversary!

Mom, we miss you! You and dad had a strong marriage that couldn't be broken. You guys both showed me and Bo what happiness is supposed to feel like. You are gone but not forgotten. I know dad misses you so much. You are still his soulmate! I hope you are looking down on us and smiling.

Happy anniversary!
Love you!

Anniversary

September 6, 2015

Terry, the only thing worse than losing you, would be to never have had you at all. I’m counting the gifts you gave me. Not just the memories which are mine forever, but the children you gave me and the ways you helped me grow. Counting the blessings helps me. Counting the losses cripples me. You continue to play a major role in how I live the rest of my life and I am so grateful for that. I still love you today like I did when we married 29 years ago. Happy Anniversary and I will always love you!

Hi Terry
You would be so proud of Kei. She graduated Saturday. Everyone was here to support her. Bo had to work and Vernell and Kimberly could not make the trip from Alabama. They sent their love. Now Kei is making plans to work on her Master Degree. It's amazing to see her become an accomplished young lady right before our eyes. We felt your presence.
Love You!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

May 10, 2015

Hi Babe! It's Mother's Day again and this day seems to be the toughest of all. You were such a wonderful mother. Each time I need guidance on an issue I ask myself "what would you do?" You taught me so much about being a mother. Our children are so lucky that they are able to have the best mother possible. I miss you so much and will always lean on you for advise while raising our children.

Happy Mothers Day!

Love Always, Vernell

Life of the Party

April 15, 2015

Terry,

I just want to say first of all that I miss you so much!!...
We were sister-in-laws and even though we didn't hang out together all the time or visit each other regularly, I still loved you as a sister..
The reason I titled this story "Life of the Party" is because you were the life of all the parties. The get togethers, the kids birthday parties, the Christmas, Thanksgiving, every gathering we had, you brought the funny!!!...I can remember you would sometimes sit at the kids table & have all their attention. I will never forget the card party you gave for Vernell's birthday and I brought "my friend" and he got into a bragging fight with your brother..it was sooo funny!!..We had a great time in the kitchen talking about them..you had me in tears!!..I will never forget that!!!...

I also wish I could"ve told you how grateful I was for you taking Toni under your wing and loving her and spoiling her...To this day Toni still talks about her shopping trips and this belt you bought her...Man, she loved that belt!..I remember she never wanted to come home..I would have to come kidnap my child to get her home...Yes, she loved her auntie Terry!!!..And Derek too!..He loved spending time with yall..He would come home and say.."Terry lets us swing on her captains bed...LOL...( the iron canopy bed you and Vernell had)..too funny!!

There are so many things I wish I coulda woulda shoulda...but God knows that  I loved you as a sister!!...Until we meet again Sister-in-Law...

Love Always..Lanet

Terry

I saw a baby being pushed with one of those push handles on a trike and thought about the time we took the kids to Silver Creek Park. Kimberly was a little munchkin about 3 years old. I was pushing her with one of those push handles and you were by the swings with Bo and Kei. As Kimberly and I crossed one of the bridges a man was also crossing and snatched the handle presumably because we were moving too slowly. I gave him a good piece of my mind and continued walking. I still felt huffy and decided he needed more. I called you and you jumped up like a jack-in-the-box. You shot over to where we were (just like I knew you would) and verbally tore him a new one.

We were feeling pretty hyped at this point as we could see the guy slumping away as this was not what he expected. We then jumped in the car and sped to your house on Quaking Aspen in Silver Creek to get Vernell. Vernell came with us to the park. When we got there Vernell could see that we had already terrorized the guy. Lol.

We talked about that incident for years. Laughing at how we both went from zero to one hundred in seconds. Kimberly was totally oblivious to what was going on. I still laugh about it. I guess you had to be there. Lol.
