My favorite story of Tommy is an old one. This took place in about 1983 (in the days before cell phones and GPS) when I was working at the Marina. On one of my first dates with Phil Bloch, he took me for a hike to the Pinnacle in Westminster. It was very beautiful but eventually we had to leave as I due at work. On the way down we got lost and I showed up at the Marina several hours late. Ellen and Tom were inconvenienced and very worried about me, but relieved when I arrived safe and sound.
The next day when I got to work, Tom handed me a present. A compass.
I still have it.
