A native of Lee County, AL., and the son of the late Willie and Annie Mae Brooks Gary, Mr. Gary retired from Southern Phenix Textile Mills. A very devout member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Phenix City, he was a member of the Deacons, Trustees and Layman Ministries. He also served as Superintendent of Sunday School. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Willie Lee Gary, Rosie Lamb and Mary Lee Gary.

Surviving are a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Lucille Stephens Gary; two daughters, Victoria Gary and Sharette Gary; one son, Tommy Lewis(Lillian); five grandchildren, Steffon Lewis, Shaquita Lewis, Toria Perry, Aiden Gary-Pace and Lena Lewis; two sisters, Viola Gary and Laura Wright(James); loving in-laws, Darryl Stephens(Tina), Caesar Stephens, Jr.(Tracey), Michael Stephens, Mary Stephens, Minnie Gaines, Ella Stephens, Patricia Feagins(Grandy), Faye Stevens ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
