Happy birthday!

June 4, 2017

This is the 3rd year of celebrating your birthday without you. Fried tacos, sky lanterns and lots of Trevor stories--they'll always be my favorite to tell and never tire of hearing them. 31 would have looked good on you. Happy birthday, love! Miss you terribly.

Five months

February 23, 2015

Five months have passed since you left us and I still cannot believe it happened. Life has been crazy and I feel as though I've just gone though the motions of living since September 23. I wanted to share a little bit, in hopes that other family and friends will feel inclined to do so, also. Many were able to attend Trev's beautiful memorial/funeral in Missouri, but for those who couldn't, here are my words for Trev:

My Trev was everything I wanted in a partner to share my life with and I was so lucky to find him so young. He was and will always be my everything. The butterflies he gave me the first time I saw him never went away and I fell more and more in love with him each day. He was the most compassionate, understanding, empathetic and caring individual I've ever met, and I always held everyone to his standard he sat without knowing it. Although our time together was way shorter than I had imagined, we had a blast together! We always looked forward to vacations, seeing new places and making memories we could share—that were just ours. We both pushed each other out of our comfort zones and helped one another grow as individuals.

When Macklemore's "Thrift shop" came on the radio, no matter where we were, Trev would get so serious and sing every single word - loudly. If it were anyone else, I'd probably want to crawl in a hole but when he did it, I felt as though I was a groupie at Trev's concert for one. Those moments when he would let loose and wasn't Trevor, the professional; Trevor, the guy everyone - younger or older - looked up to; Trevor, the shy guy who many knew or Trevor, the cancer fighting machine, instead he was the goofy and fun-loving Trev who I loved so much.

I loved watching him with Chloe, he took her everywhere he could. Sunday mornings were always entertaining at our house. Trev would be reading his Sunday paper and drinking coffee and Chloe would come out of no where and grab a section and take off, shredding it along the way. I would laugh so hard watching those two duke it out, would Trev save it or would Chloe be the victor? Usually, it was Chloe. But, Trev would get down in the floor with her and encourage her to tear them into smaller pieces before they were picked up.

I can't wait to be greeted by your perfect face and have the rush of butterflies again.

I will never stop loving you and will not only live my life but make sure I live for you, too.

Love,
your Ree-Ree and Chloe
