With gratitude to God for a life well lived the Ilogu family announce the passing to glory of our father, grandfather and great grandfather - Venerable (Prof) Edmund Ilogu on Sunday December 6th, 2015 in Enugu, Nigeria after a brief illness, he was 95 years old.

Venerable Edmund Ilogu, (MA, STM, Ph.D) was born on April 25th, 1920 in Ihiala, Ihiala LGA of Anambra State. He received his secondary education from the prestigious Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha (class of 1938) and his first degree in Religion  from London University before attending Columbia University where he obtained a Masters Degree; he then went on to obtain a PhD from Leiden University in Holland. He taught at Nigerian College Ibadan, University of Ibadan and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he was professor of Theology and Religion for many years. Upon leaving the university in Nigeria, he served as Chairman of Teachers Service Commission in Anambra State, Chairman of Public Service Commission in Anambra State and subsequently Commissioner for Public Complaints for Anambra State before returning to the USA where he taught at Maryland State University. At various times during his teaching career he served as Priest and Rector of many parishes both in Nigeria and here in the USA, he was an Archdeacon in the Diocese of Enugu at the time of his death. He will surely be missed but the memories will last forever.
