It’s been 8 years when I said goodbye and yet it seems like yesterday. There are so many moments that spark memories of when you were her with us. Your grand babies are beautiful and growing up so fast but, I’m sure you know that watching down on them from heaven.

Happy Birthday sister. I know it's one day late writing it in words. But don't think I forgot. It was just the opposite. You were on my mind and in my heart all day. Yesterday we said goodbye to Zeke and Cassandra's dad and as I prayed for him and for Liz and the kids I know you heard me wish you a happy birthday. You have a familiar face to join your group in heaven and from what I hear, he has a great sense of humor. I miss you and hope you and momma celebrated your special day together with lots of laughter.

Just one more time I want to hear your voice and see your smiling face.

Just one more time I want to hear you quote lines from" Steel Magnolias" with your southern flair.

Just one more time I want to taste your chocolate strawberries and devour the fudge you make with love and care.

Just one more time I want us girls to sit around mom's dining room table and share stories that make us laugh until our bladders almost burst. 

Just one more time I want to see that eyebrow raise in disapproval or raised when you are feeling naughty.

Just one more time I want to say I love and appreciate you for the care you gave our mother.

Just one more time will never come because a year ago today we laid you to rest.

So, until we meet again, rest peacefully my dear sister.

I'm missing you, especially today. So many birthdays shared between us. Your first away from home. A blanket of memories and laughter I use to comfort me when I have my lowest days. The day I said goodbye left a hole of grief I cannot fill no matter how much I try. But, today is a day to celebrate you on this side of heaven for the 62 years of love you brought into my life.
