Tributes
Leave a tributeThey taught, they loved and they nurtured us when we didn’t know that the world around us even existed…
They molded us in thoughts and prayers.
We learned their customs, traditions and faith that later became ours.
We were their family in its very beginning…
The nucleus, the center, the new branch of the family tree.
Time stood still and yet time passed only too quickly…
All too soon we realized that their time here was limited, was gone before our very eyes but that another branch of that tree, another generation was to sprout forward with new life.
We recalled the sweet innocence of our youth and younger years, the questions and the yearning to be liberated to do our thing only to realize that we too would grow our own branch, see it’s blossoms, grow it’s leafs, bear it’s fruits until such a time when our limb could do no more but give way to that next younger tender seed of life just beginning to grow… as the circle of life does for each of us as we in turn pass onto our future generation the rich past of our ancestors who taught us only too well.
In memory of our parents, Victor and Candida Perez, who gave their all to their children and family.
Daddy I missed you so… but now Mom has joined you and I know that you’re together again. I will miss you both and love you forever.
I will always remember you as the cook in the family and always with kind heart and a smile, as I write this tears are flowing down my face cause I never really had the chance to tell you how much you really ment to me or said how much I love you. May you rest in peace love always your nephew Bobby
Neil and I are both saddened to hear about the loss of your father. There is never a "good" time to lose a parent, but I hope you can take comfort in knowing that he lived long enough to see the sweet little girl he raised become a beautiful and loving woman. Although I never met him, I know he must have been VERY VERY proud of you, Ana, because you are a wonderful and loving person as anyone who has ever met you knows!
We will pray for your family and that your father rests in Peace. I know that you will have your very own Guardian Angel as he continues to watch over you from heaven.
Bless you all,
Cindy and Neil Burell

No pain is far reaching than the pain of losing your father. I am sending you condolences just to let you know that we all are with you during this difficult time.

Kitchen
I like to contribute a little story. I had the pleasure to experience his cooking at his house in Tampa.
In two different occasion as Yvi got to visit them at their home, I got a chance to go visit too. That came with perks. They both will be cooking! He noticed I did not get near the kitchen as the usual girl does, So he proceed to go an ask me (mind I knew it was coming.) so mija what plate you like to cook? I proceeded to laugh, so did Yvi.
I told him, Don Victor I don't cook. Well I do, but I don't like to. So I can truly say I'm the only Puertorican girl he meet that didn't cook. So he said, pero mija como va ser? I responded, well you kind off have something to do with that. How he said. Well you love to cook, you pass that love to Yvi and Ana and God pass that blessing to me! So see Im a phone call away whenever they wanna try a new plate. He looked at me and laugh ...I got the look, as I was from another planet.
I've learned to recognize that look, the lord has blessed me with friends that cook and I supply the kitchen.
I am incredibly grateful for having the blessing to enjoy and be an extension of him through his family and his cooking.
Gracias Don Victor, for your cooking and for living me an incredible gift, Yvi and Ana.
Forever grateful,
Tanya and Family
Cooking with my Dad
There are lots of experiences of cooking with my Dad. The first time, my sister and I were told to pay attention.....we were going to eat whatever we learned to cook that day. It was our first day at the stove....the lesson was.."how to cook white rice". I remember the steps and how if you forgot the small amount of cooking oil, you could end up with something close to "spakling puddy".... it was fun, it was new, it was all about Dad....
I love cooking without a recipe. Looking at ingredients and just knowing that they will work. All my skills, my love of food, my kitchen talents...i owe to my Dad. I will always remember him when I cook which will be everyday.
I love you Dad, I will always miss you.....
