His Life
April 5, 2015

The life of the man’s destiny was fulfilled and divine purpose accomplished.

On Monday, March 30, 2015, the breath of God blew upon the earth; a man became a living soul. As God exhaled on October 25, 1936, He gave life to Wilbert Broaden, Sr. He was born to the late Mr. William Broaden, Sr. and Mrs. Lillar Davis Broaden. Twelve (12) of his siblings preceded him in death.

Wilbert was born and resided in Union Springs, AL. When he was a child, he was baptized and joined Second Baptist Church in the Thompson Community. After sixty (60) years of dedicated service, Wilbert retired from Briarhill Farm where he worked as a Rancher.

Wilbert was united in holy matrimony to Ernest Dean Kelly; and to this union, eight (8) children were born. Our beloved Wilbert leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Ernest Dean Broaden, and children: Betty (James) Miles, (Prattville, AL); Wilbert Broaden, Jr. (Sandra) (Montgomery, AL); Sandra (Mark) Michael, (Union Springs, AL); Richard (Syvility) Broaden, (Jacksonville, FL); Mary (Eugene) Turpin, (Union Springs, AL), Janie (Reginald) Crawford, (Montgomery, AL); William (Janice) Broaden, (Union Springs, AL); and Yvette Broaden (Charles), (Montgomery, AL). Two (2) sisters Margo (Jessie) Edmunds, (Atlanta, GA) and Rosie (Walter) Gould, (Columbus, GA); Twenty-four (24) grandchildren; twenty-six (26) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
