Woodrow was called home to be with the Lord on July 10th, 2015 at 7:35 PM at the age of 78 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.

As a young child, Woodrow was baptized and joined Mt. Herman Baptist Church. He attended Tanyard School. Woodrow was one of eleven children. Woodrow married Annie-Joe Faniel in 1955 and moved to New Jersey. To this union, he was Blessed with four beautiful children.

Woodrow was preceded in death by his father, Pleze
Young; mother, Laurae Young; two brothers, John Young
& William Gomez Young; sister, Lizzie Ree Young and
youngest daughter, Dianer Young.

 

Woodrow leaves to cherish his memory his daughter,
Darcus L. (Rodney) Young-Garland; son, David L.
(Gloria) Young; son, Jesse J. (Josephine) Young and sonin-
law, Victor Penny. Woodrow is loved and remembered
by twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren;
seven sisters: Pollie Parhams, Aner Ruth Young, Nancy
Y. Williams, Yvonna Williams, Annette Young, Sammie
Mae Young-Dixon and Alene “Penny” Young; a host of
nieces & nephews and a special devoted friend, Willie-Mae
Graham.
