Brother-in Law you are truly missed. Not a day passes that I don't think about how kind you were to me and how I knew you were there at all times. I know you loved the Lord and He loved you because it was shown through your daily activities. You were genuine in all ways, always eager to be of service, coming and doing when least expected, always trying to make things better for somebody else. Thank you for being a true friend to Robert; he appreciated your loving kindness also. RIP I know you are in a good and better place: your spirit will remain with me forever.

Ray came into my life when we were nine, in the 4th grade. Seems like he was always there, a fifth brother who had my back. School, church, fun times, sad times. Its hard knowing I can't call him and ask for help or advice on something. His favorite line was, "you know what to do, when you gone do it". I do know he's in a better place and he truly loved the Lord, but he's sorely missed here.

Happy birthday Uncle Ray, I find it a nice coincidence that, I put your obituary in front of the TV just Friday night. Maybe you were reminding me that your birthday was near! I am very thankful to have been giving such a compassionate and understanding uncle. I will most definitely miss having to make that phone call for whatever reason..... You were there. I miss you and will always appreciate who you are and were. Love always Felicia

Dad, Happy 68th Birthday! Not a day has passed and I haven’t thought of you. I know that you’re in a better place now but your thoughts, the conversations we had, the laughter, the talks about sports and so many other things are truly missed. Your legacy will live forever! Thank you for being the best father a person could ever have. Happy Birthday Daddy! Love Ray, Jr.

Happy Birthday our friend and beloved! I light this candle in representation of love. There isn't a person that Allen Ray Grimes Sr. has met where he hasn't shown love in some form or fashion. When the ray of the light shines, it allows not only one, but many to see a brighter and clearer pathway. His love was that kind of light. Although the wax has melted down to its max, so many has gotten thru their pathway, and their candle that was lit can pave the way for those left behind. What an everlasting light to shine.

A Father's Love

January 22, 2015

My father wasn’t always right

But he tried the best he could

I wasn’t always the best son

But he always understood

We didn’t always see eye to eye

And he would simply say

Just do the best you can

One day you will understand

When I grew up and moved away

I didn’t always keep in touch

He said you can call me any day

I’m just a phone call away

As we both grew older by the day

We grew closer as father and son

I found out what being a Dad was like

And understood the things he had done

God called him home a few months ago

And the memories are still strong

I thank him for being my father

And for letting me be his son
