Ari's Short Biography

Born on the February 26, 1981, Arinzechukwu Fredrich (Fritz) Igbo would have celebrated his 35th birthday this February 2016. As a dark bow-legged infant Ari (as he was fondly called) was bundle of joy, full of energy and was always there to welcome home his three siblings who arrived in the next three years.

He started his schooling career with “Tender Touch Nursery and Primary School” as a toddler. He later went to Nazareth Nursery and Primary School from 1986 to 1991 where he completed his primary school education. It was in Nazareth his catholic faith was nurtured as the school was run by Irish sisters. They were instrumental in preparing him for the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation.  Ari then proceeded to Nigerian Navy Secondary School (NNSS) Abeokuta which he completed in 1998. He was not able to go immediately to university and had to study for his Jamb exams. In September 1999, Ari successfully gained admission to the prestigious University of Nigeria (UNN) where he went on to study Architecture following the career footsteps of his father. He successfully graduated with a Masters degree and was ready to face the world. He did his NYSC in Bauchi State from 2007 to 2008. 

While Ari was on holidays during his time in the University, he will work at an architectural firm Alofoje and partners where he continued to hone his skills. Ari was a very brilliant architect and very artistic. After completion of his NYSC, Ari got a job as a Facilities Coordinator with Shell Nigeria in Port-Harcourt on a contract basis. He spent two years on this position. He later joined the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja in 2011 where he remained employed until his passing on 22 January 2016.

In June 14, 2014, Ari got married to Nneka and God blessed their union with a son Ifeanyichukwu Andrew Igbo in November 24, 2015. 

As a kid, Ari loved food but beans were his favourite. He loved reading ancient history and watching mafia movies. It was on this note he named his late dog ‘Brando’ after his favorite actor Marlon Brando who played Vito Colene in the movie ‘The Godfather’. Basketball was his favourite sport, which he played as a Power Forward. Ari was a very social and selfless person who believed in friendship. He was persistent in maintaining relationship with friends and family, no matter how far away the person may be, he always found a way of staying in touch. He was gentle and loved by all who came in contact with him. 
He lived this way till his tragic demise on January 22, 2016.
