Bobby Genosa lost his battle with lung and brain cancer on Tuesday, April
19, 2011. He was 52 years old.
He will be laid to rest in Michigan beside his dad, who preceded him in
death in 1991.
Bobby was born in Detroit on May 22, 1958, to Robert and Jacquline Anderson.
 He was the eldest of three children.
He will be best remembered in Ridgecrest as owner and chef of Food for
Thought Restaurant from 1990-1999.  He expressed love through cooking in
restaurants and hotels in California and Nevada during the last 30 years of
his life.
Bobby lived in St. Clair Shores, Mich. He was a drummer in a band called
“Stonebridge” before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1975.
He was stationed at March Air Force Base in Riverside where he remained
after his discharge and opened his first pizza parlor.
It was at that time he met Sonny Bono and accepted a position with him as
chef of Bono’s Restaurant in Hollywood.
He then became the executive chef at Capistrano’s Restaurant in El Segundo.
From there he joined the team at the Rivera Country club in Pacific
Palisades.
Bobby wanted to make a move from the large city to a smaller one through a
desire to raise his sons in a hometown atmosphere.
He moved his family to Ridgecrest where he was the Chef at Vincenzo’s
Italian Restaurant until its closing in 1989.
At that time, he opened Food for Thought Restaurant on Balsam Street from
1990-1999.
In 2000, he moved to Santa Barbara and was chef at Mia Mora’s and Fresco’s.
He moved to Carson City, Nev., and was a chef at La Familia’s Restaurant
before opening the Carson City Diner.
Bobby’s last position before his illness was the chef at Sky Box Restaurant
at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas.
Bobby is survived in death by his third wife Ramona and stepdaughter
Vanessa; his second wife Rose and their sons Tony and Vincent (USMC); his
first wife Treva and their daughter Chentrea and her husband Chris and
grandchildren Vivienne and Valentino; stepdaughter Alexandrea and stepson
Nick; his mom Jackie; sister Donna; niece Crystal (Kirk) and their children
Donaron and Miles;Nieces Angela and Ashley; his sister Diane (Paul) and their 
children Leo and Alyssa.
He is also survived by countless extended family members and friends who
never forgot him and never stopped loving him.
We will all miss him and his amazing talent for cooking.
