I remember when Granny used to visit. When we were younger she used to take her false teeth out with her tongue thought she scare us but nope we would keep asking her to do it again.. We love and miss her so much

My gran

July 19, 2015

I have so many memories growing up of my granny T as me & my brothers/sisters called her aswell as my granda Joe!!!!                                                                                     My gran had the patience of a saint, she never swore, smoked or drank alcohol & as a kid I stayed most weekends with them & I remember I stole my granda's lighter & set fire to the wallpaper in the back room & I remember my gran running in cause she smelt smoke & told me not to play with matches or lighters. I was expecting an ear bashing or something cause if that day never made her curse & swear then nothing would!!!                                                                                                                                       We loved staying with my gran & granda she made what she called was 'meat & tattie pie' unbelievable think she got fed up making it cause that's all we would bug her for!!! I enjoyed the stories my gran & granda used to tell about their lives, how they met etc & my gran said that "when me & your granda die I want our ashes put together & scattered where we met". I hope I'm not mistaken in saying it was a park in Barnsley 'oakfield' I think as I was only in my early teens when she said that to me & im 30 now.  Unfortunately I never got that opportunity to do it as it would've been a great honour or see it be done & I don't know if it has been done to this day!!!!                                    One thing my granny always said to me & it'll stick with me forever " your mum & dad are your best friends don't let anyone say anything about them!!!
