"I am thankful for your example as a husband who truly loved his wife. Not everyone grows up with that kind of role model, and it was a blessing to see how you put your family first, not to the detriment of your own well being, but as an indication of their importance to you. It was a blessing to see the kind of marriage you took time to invest in was actually possible.

I am thankful for your kindness. Every time I saw you, you made a point to be welcoming and to ask how I was doing. The way you asked was different than most. It wasn't a passing gesture to fulfill social norms, you took the time to listen to my responses and you wanted to share how you were doing as well.

I am thankful for your witness. There are some people who bring God's light and peace into conversations and interactions naturally. You embodied that."

"Eddie, our families entered into each others lives about 16 years ago of course through soccer!! Who knew that a friendship would bloom...thank you for being a father figure to my boys for so many years. You, Susan, Zachary, Kade, and Linda became our family and like so many stories I've been reading you touched so many lives in so many ways and that is why God put you on our lives! Thank you for the hours of soccer practice, games, tournaments, halloweens, for just hanging out, for fixing my locks, for encouraging words, letting Susan be there for me and Christopher during his heart surgery, your friendship, and the list goes on.... too many memories to list. This is not good bye my friend I know you are in Heaven pain free and watching over Susan and the boys probably staying busy with some sort of project, but until we see each other again know you are missed and so loved!"

"Larry, Bullet and I had the pleasure of going to Haiti with Eddie, Kade and Zach! Eddie and his boys were such a blessing to us during this trip.  Eddie was always concerned about how I was doing and if he needed to carry my back pack.  I watched how he prayed over people we did not even know and how he shared his love for his boys with us.  What a pleasure it has been to love on this family! You have all shown that through good times and bad you trust in the Lord to get you through it! Thank you for sharing your family with us.  Love you!!!!"
