Where do I begin

August 14, 2015

First, let me say thank you for the out pouring of love and support from everyone. It's hard to start with the end of someone's life, so I'd like to start at the beginning, my beginning. Hi, my name is Tara; I'm Eugene's daughter. I'm my father's only child, but I was his pride and joy, as he was mine. I loved my daddy like all those classic daddy-daughter story lines.

So for me, I got to know 37 of my dad's 65 years of life. My father as I knew and saw him was a giant! He was big at heart, loved sports of all kinds, and was a bit of a philospher and charmer at times. He worked hard, but he enjoyed life and did so simply. He loved family dearly and kept in close contact with a lot of our family members, especially if someone was ill. My dad touched many people's lives and he met so many people, many of whom I do not even know, but hope to.

A few things about my dad that I knew best, he was a graduate of East High School and Central State University. He enjoyed teaching, he was into real-estate, he loved kids, and he was an avid Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. My dad enjoyed good foods, and tolerated trying my "healthier version" dishes at times. My dad and I were both big on all types of music; I developed my love for a wide variety of music at an early age because of him. My dad tried to teach me a lot about relationships, business, education, and living. He was a strong go-to ear for me and even if he didn't agree, he'd hear me out. I spoke with my father practically every day, and whether our conversation was 60 minutes or 2 minutes long, I believe we were both at peace knowing that the other was okay or going to be okay and that we said our "I love you's." That was my dad, and I will always always love him...

As this site is constructed, I invite you to share your own stories about my dad. I appreciate and thank you in advance for your tributes, your love, your condolences, and your words of encouragement. I will continue to add and share with you as well. Please stop back as often as you'd like to share and read.

In Loving Memory of My Father,

Tara Harmon-Lloyd
